Making A Clean Energy Investment

Investing in the stock market or stocks of any kind is always risky. However when you make the right investments you can often enjoy profits. There is one dilemma that some investors might face when trying to find a financially viable investment, how do you ensure that your investments are also good for the environment?

The idea of making a clean energy investment is a relatively new one. People usually think about profit before thinking about the ethical and environmental impacts that investments can have. After all buying stock in a company hardly seems like it could hurt the environment, yet in some cases this is exactly what happens.

In Good Conscience

If you feel that your investments should match your sentiments for the environment then a clean energy investment is the best way to go. One way to go about this is to research companies that invest in creating clean energy or companies that have high ethical and environmental standards. Besides investing in companies that are environmentally responsible you can also be sure that the companies you are investing in do not have policies that discriminate against anyone.

This can be time consuming and the profits that you might be able to enjoy limited. Instead you can make a clean energy investment through a company that invests in different types of clean energy. You can choose to invest a particular clean energy source or several different types of clean energy sources. You can invest in standard alternative energies such as wind and solar power, and more unseal energy sources such as ocean energy.

Way Of The Future

Another reason that a clean energy investment is a good idea is that clean energy and alternative energy are the energy sources of the future. Fossil fuel continues to diminish all around the world. Everywhere you look people are looking for ways to become more energy efficient.

This will only continue to grow as time goes on. This is the perfect time to make clean energy investments, when stocks are affordable and technology is constantly moving forward. You can expect to do well with a portfolio in clean energy investment. The trick is to find the right types of investment.

This can only be done with the right amount of research. Before investing you should check the viability of the energy source you are investing in. look for the company’s profile and its successes and failures. While no amount of research can guarantee a return it will help you to make a smart choice.

Preparing For A Clean Energy System

Installing a clean energy system in your home can be expensive. In fact you might wonder halfway through why you even bothered in the first place. Without the proper research you might find yourself severely disappointed with the results.

You may have expected a huge savings in your electricity bill, and yet after your system is in place you find that the numbers are still not low enough. The truth is you have to treat renewable energy as a clean energy investment. The returns will not be seen immediately.

Energy Efficiency

Many people make the mistake of thinking that a clean energy system will give you energy efficiency immediately. The reality is that you should be thinking of ways to make your home more energy efficient before you install a clean energy system.

The first thing you need to do is toss out all your incandescent light bulb. Instead you should be using compact fluorescent lamps. These bulbs use less energy and last longer. Start looking at other things you might need to replace in your home such as household appliances.

Other household appliances such as printers, televisions, cell phone chargers, and radios can consume energy even when turned off. As long as these appliances are plugged into a power source they are leeching electricity and adding to your electricity bill.

To avoid this and make some savings on your electricity bill you should buy power strips to plug your appliances into. Power strips have a switch that you can switch on and off to ensure that your appliances are not using any electricity when not in use.

Older refrigerators, washing machines, and dryers are less energy efficient. You will get more out of your clean energy system when you have appliances that are energy efficient. This applies to air conditioning and heating systems.

Considering The Right Solution

Once you have started to take these small steps toward energy efficiency you can then think about what clean energy system is right for you. Solar power is gaining popularity but it is not the best solution for everyone. Wind turbines are another possible solution for anyone who would like to have a clean energy system in place.

A study of the annual weather patterns will help you to make a better decision as to what clean energy system will be best for you. Consulting with a clean energy expert will also help you to make the best decision for your home.

A Guide to Clean Energy Technology

Clean energy is the term used to describe the energy sources that are non-polluting and environmentally friendly. Some of the best sources of clean energy include wind, solar, geothermal and hydro. Green or clean energy is thought of with reference to mechanical power, electricity, cogeneration and heating. Businesses, consumers and organizations purchase this energy to support further development, and minimize the impact of conventional energy generators on environment.

Petroleum, coal, nuclear, hydel and geothermal are some of the conventional energy sources, and wind, solar, sea-tide and bio-mass some of the non-conventional energy sources. There are many viable clean energy technology projects in operation in India, and other countries.

Clean energy technologies tap the renewable natural energy resources for heating, lighting, and generating electricity. Sun is a vast resource of such energy, and most renewable energy comes directly or indirectly from sun. Heat of the sun drives winds, and the wind energy is captured using wind turbines. Sun and wind cause evaporation of water, causing rains, and this energy can be captured using hydroelectric power.

Incorporating Clean Energy Technology
There are worldwide efforts to tap the clean energy sources to minimize the use of fossil fuel. Recently, government of Abu Dhabi announced a 15bn dollar initiative to develop and implement clean energy technology by making use of hydrogen. It is a five-year initiative, and most ambitious and challenging project ever launched by the government.

Keeping in mind that the global energy demands are going to expand in the future, the impact of existing sources of energy raise a serious concern regarding sustainability and environment. It is a time to look for clean energy technologies that are eco-friendly, and can meet the raising power demands worldwide.

One of the clean energy technologies involve using steam along with natural gas to manufacture mixture of hydrogen and carbon dioxide. When hydrogen is burnt, it does not produce CO2, and hence hydrogen produced this way could be used to generate electricity or can be used in vehicles.

If the energy is produced using clean energy technology, it will not run out. Implementation of these technologies also helps create jobs, and fuel the local economies. Power generated by using clean energy technologies can also be sold to the other countries, boosting the trade deficit.

Transforming the energy future, slowing down and reversing the changes in climate and its consequences will require clean energy solutions and clear agenda that will allow rebuilding and repowering this planet. The key is to use the untapped natural sources in more economic way, so that the energy is produced and distributed cost-efficiently.

Sources of Clean Energy
Using natural and clean energy sources for providing heat and electricity in the houses is becoming increasingly popular. It reduces the burden on existing dependency on fossil fuel, which contributes to the global warming to a large extent. Using fossil fuel adds to the pollution, and dramatic climate changes. Using renewable natural resources for generating power can help save the earth from devastation if we take the right action, and preserve the natural resources. Switching to the renewable and clean energy resources is a large step forward to fight against the global warming and climate change.
Various Clean Energy Sources
When it comes to clean energy sources, tapping the wind energy is a great option. The electricity is generated by spinning the wheels, and it can be used for many applications. As per statistics, if all the geothermal energy under US till the depth of two miles could be extracted, it could meet the power demands of US for the next 30,000 years. However, tapping that much clean energy is not feasible as there are many economic and technological impediments, but even if we can draw 5% for this wealth, it can meet the needs of 250m families per year. Wind energy is caused due to uneven heating of surface of the earth by sun. Today, wind energy is being mainly used for generating electricity, and this is done by tapping the kinetic energy of wind.

Leading scientists all over the world are urging EU and its member states to make the multi-million Euro commitment for solar driven environmentally clean energy production. By 2050, the total annual global consumption of energy is expected to double, and fossil fuel reserves are already running out. Use of fossil fuels also produce dangerous levels of CO2, resulting in global warming. Sun is a source of unlimited clean energy, but the problem lies in harnessing it. The only way to succeed is mimicking the natural processes such as photosynthesis that can help in production of fuels on the commercial scale.

Low impact hydropower is also a significant source of renewable clean energy that incorporates use of turbines. The clean energy is created in rivers and streams that produce enough force to spin the turbines. There is no need to dam a river up, and the hydropower sources operate with free-flowing river so that effect on the environment is minimized.

Clean energy technology may not be easy to install and get operational, but these environmentally friendly sources of energy are the only way to change our planet for good. Though the clean energy systems cost more, the benefits offered to the ecosystem make them well worth the cost.

The future power needs of our society require multiple sources, and the answer to increasing demands is the family of diverse energy technologies sharing a common thread: not destroying our environment or depleting the natural resources. Technologies involving renewable energy sources tap the natural systems and cycles, converting the always-present energy around us into more usable forms.

The use of natural and renewable energy sources is required so that dependency on fossil fuels can be minimized. We burn high levels of fossil fuels each day, and this contributes greatly to the pollution of air and dramatic climatic changes. It is important to act now, so that we can save earth from devastation.

Advantages of Clean Energy
There are many benefits of using the renewable and natural energy sources. Wind, tides, sun and geothermal activities are renewable, and freely available, all the time. There is initial cost of wind turbines, solar panels, and geothermal equipment, but later, the consumer has to bear only the maintenance cost. The dependency on the fossil fuel supplies can be eliminated, and it is possible to become energy efficient. If there is infrastructure in place that can generate energy from renewable natural sources, we will not have to bother about running out of coal, oil and gas supplies.

Using natural and clean energy sources is also a step towards reducing the effects of global warming. Carbon emission is not only prevalent in heavy industries, but in the average household as well. A small step such as recycling and reusing can significantly impact environment around us positively.

Using solar panels is a good way to generate the renewable and clean energy that can power the remote appliances. Solar hot water panels and solar electricity panels are the two main forms of solar cells existing today. This technology is advancing fast, and now the photovoltaic power is being used for more efficient solar panel designs.
Using wind turbines is a good way to get clean and renewable energy for home or business purposes. It is a very promising alternative for future energy growth, and also reduces carbon emission. For home purpose, it is very easy to buy a cheap, low efficiency wind turbine.
The ground contains significant amount of energy in the form of heat, and this energy can be tapped to generate geothermal power that can produce large amounts of electricity. However, there are very few locations all over the world that are capable of producing efficient and viable electricity from geothermal sources. Dry steam, binary-cycle and flash-steam are the three main power plant designs using geothermal as the energy source.
